Update: Outdoor Education Activities for Public Schools Procedures
2nd March 2019 by Vicki Delves
ACHPER WA continues to be proactive in providing support and seeking clarification regarding the implementation and interpretation of the Duty of Care Policy which incorporates the Outdoor Education Activities for Public Schools Procedures.
ACHPER WA has sought clarification from the Department of Education regarding the wording in the transition statements that is slightly different between documents and has created interpretation confusion.
Please see below
Transition statement on page 8 of Duty of Care Policy
During this transition period, schools who have not implemented the requirements of these procedures must follow the requirements of the previous Outdoor Education and Recreation Activities for Public Schools Policy, a copy of which can be requested from Policy and Program Governance via PolicyEnquiry@education.wa.edu.au. For any content enquiries relating to outdoor education activities, please contact Curriculum Support on 6206 2010.
