In response to the results from the ACHPER WA: Outdoor Education Activities Member survey; ACHPER WA has commissioned a suite of professional learning opportunities to support teachers attain the compliance requirements required for the new Duty of Care policy and Outdoor Education activities for public schools procedures.

This targeted approach has identified the highest support needs from the ACHPER WA survey data.

The four activities identified from the data with the highest support needs include:

  • Paddling: Canoeing and Kayaking
  • Bushwalking and Orienteering
  • Snorkelling
  • Mountain biking.

Paddling

17th Dec: Flatwater Guide Kayak Course – with RPL – one day course

18th Dec: Flatwater Guide Canoe Course – with RPL – one day course

19-20th Dec: Flatwater Guide Canoe & Kayak – two day course

All Paddling registrations close : 14 December 1:00pm

 

Mountain Biking

17th December – mountain biking course (Kalamunda)

 

Snorkelling

Expression of Interest is being sought to run a 3 day course in the second or third week of January 2019

Course: SISOSNK403A – Instruct snorkelling skills
Option 1: Two day course: approx. $495 including – Instruct snorkelling skills course and Oxygen provider
Option 2: Three day course: approx. $650 including – Instruct snorkelling skills course and Oxygen provider and first aid
