2018 Annual State HPE Conference
The WA annual HPE conference is from the 26-28th November 2018.
Look forward to THE professional learning opportunity for HPE teachers in WA. Our program will be split into Primary and Secondary days, and will have streams in Health Education, Physical Education, Outdoors Education, Phys Ed Studies, Health Studies and sport development.
This year we will have a focus on health and wellbeing, of you and your students!
Monday 26th – Secondary teachers
Tuesday 27th – Early Learning (NEW!), Primary and Secondary
Wednesday 28th – Primary teachers
Plus – take the opportunity to complete your Bronze Medallion and Senior First Aid on Sunday 25th November.

Professor Dawn PennyProfessorial research fellow, ECU
KEYNOTE SPEAKER Dawn Penney is a professorial research fellow in the School of Education at ECU and an Adjunct Professor at Monash University. Dawn is known internationally for her research in policy, curriculum and assessment in physical education. Dawn’s work seeks to bring equity issues to the fore of debates within the profession about ‘quality’ PE and HPE.
Milanna HeberlePrincipal, Rossmoyne Senior High School
KEYNOTE SPEAKER Milanna began her career as a HPE teacher, and has had roles as a Hockey Specialist, Head of Learning Area, a Principal Consultant for the new WACE, Deputy Principal, and Principal. Her interests include strategic planning, change management, leadership development and data analysis.
Clark WrightHead of Preparatory, Guilford Grammar School
KEYNOTE SPEAKER Clark Wight is an educator and presenter through his Our Boys and Conscious Parenting seminars. His work includes conference presentations, articles and seminars around engaging adolescent children, and speaks alongside conscious parenting advocate Maggie Dent. He started his teaching career as a first grade teacher and has taught at every year level at schools in the US and Australia.
