What do Australian adolescents know about Australian Dietary Guidelines?
Congratulations to ACHPER members Fiona Farringdon and Beth Hands, and co-author Paola Chivers on their fantastic article in the newly refurbished ACHPER Journal titled: Curriculum Studies in Health and Physical Education (previously known as the Asia Pacific Journal of Health, Sport and Physical Education).
The paper is the third from a study that explored the adolescent perceptions, understandings and behaviours regarding food choices and food literacy. The study found that body image emerged as the strongest influence over food preference with media reinforcing girl’s desires to be thin and boy’s desires to be muscular.
